My Tech

What technology do I use? I’ve done a complete list below.

Current Tech:

Desktop Computers:

  • Apple Mac mini – 2.26 Core 2 Duo, 2GB DDR3 RAM, 160GB HDD, Mac OS X Snow Leopard 19″ 1440×900 Acer display and Compaq 19″ 1280 x 1024 resolution (2009)
  • Dell Inspiron 530 – Intel Core2 Quad 2.4GHz, 4GB RAM, 640GB primary HDD, 500GB secondary HDD, Windows 7 Professional x64, 19″ LG 1440×900 monitor, 22″ BenQ 1920×1080 monitor (2008)

Portable Computers:

  • Toshiba Equium A100 – Intel Core Duo 1.6GHZ, 2.5GB RAM, 60GB HDD, Windows XP Professional (with media center), 15″ display. (2006)
  • Advent 4211 – Intel Atom 1.6GHZ, 2GB RAM, 120GB HDD, Windows 7 Home Premium, 10″ display (AKA MSI Wind U100) (2009)

Media Devices:

  • Apple iPod Classic 80GB (2007)
  • Apple iPod Touch 8GB (first generation) with jailbreak (2008)

Game Consoles:

  • XBOX 360 250GB (2010) (Connected to the same Acer 1440×900 display as the Mac mini above via VGA)

Cell/Mobile Phone:

  • Samsung D900 for (Virgin Mobile UK network) (2007)
  • Nokia E71 for web browsing and tethering (Virgin Mobile UK network) (2009)

Cameras:

  • Panasonic Lumix DMC – FS3 (stills camera) (2008)
  • Panasonic SDR S26 (camcorder) (2009)
  • Kodak Zx1 (pocket camcorder) (2010)

Backing up:

  • 500GB internal SATA Hard Disk
  • Acer easyStore Windows Home Server (3 x 1TB and 1 x 500GB hard drives)

Past Tech:

Desktop Computers:

  • Dell Dimension 4500

Game Consoles:

  • XBOX 360 Pro (2007) (Red rings after about 10 minutes )

Cell/Mobile Phone:

  • LG KP500 (2009) (Faulty, no longer in use. Replaced by E71)

Future Tech:

This is the tech I’m planning to buy in the next year or so:

  • HTC Wildfire on T-Mobile UK network (when they actually have them in stock!)
  • Apple iPod Touch 4th Generation (maybe)
  • 22″ Monitor (To replace 1 x 19″ monitor)
  • New 13-15″ laptop (to replace both Advent and Toshiba above)
